This includes all inflammations of the lids. Most of the time it is caused by dryness or allergy, but it can also be caused
by infection. There are many glands along the lid margins, and they will secrete mucus when irritated or in the presence of
dry eye syndrome. Blepharitis usually requires ongoing treatment since it is a chronic condition.
